There is a famous quantum physics experiment where
particles were shot through an opening and observed hitting the surface
behind the opening. The pattern that the particles made on the surface
were as expected. Next the scientists shot particles through two openings
and observed that pattern. As expected. Then an unexpected event occurred.
The physicists left the room during a run of the experiment. When they
returned and looked at the pattern the particles made, they were
surprised. When the particles weren't observed they made a completely
different pattern. It was not the normal, expected pattern at all.
Observed one pattern; unobserved a random pattern. Ohm! One could say that
the quantum particles were conscious. Maybe. |
| Consciousness is actually a part of all faith traditions,
but most often seen as part of Buddhism. To me, it means that the universe
is a web and everything and everybody is part of that web. We are all
interrelated and all one. Also, there is no past and no future, but there
is only now. Consciousness for me is to seek wisdom, loving kindness,
compassion, joy, and peace. If I am a conscious being how could I seek
anything else? |
